Chiropractic Care
Low Back Pain
Chiropractors are most sought after to treat low back pain — be it short-term (acute) or long-term (chronic). If you experience back pain that lasts for more than a few days, consult a chiropractor for an assessment.
Sports Injuries
A chiropractor will assess, diagnose and work with you to develop a rehabilitation plan to meet your needs. And if you have injuries outside of your chiropractor’s spine, muscle, joint and nervous system expertise, they’ll refer you to other health care professionals and collaborate with them to support your overall recovery.
Headaches
Evidence demonstrates that chiropractic care can effectively treat neck-based (cervicogenic) and tension-type headaches and also decrease the intensity, as well as the frequency of migraines.
Athletic Performance
Chiropractic treatments, such as manual therapy and therapeutic exercises, can help optimize your performance. They can also help prevent injuries and if they do occur, reduce your healing time.
Posture and Mobility
Many adults visit chiropractors to alleviate sporadic pain, reduce their risk of injuries or improve their flexibility, mobility and posture so they can live their best life.
Neck Pain
You may have neck pain due to tension, strain or an injury. A chiropractor will assess, diagnose and work with you to develop a treatment plan, which may include manual therapy, soft tissue therapy, therapeutic exercises or other modalities, such as acupuncture.
Services
Chiropractic Care
After an initial appointment to assess your condition, a chiropractor will use their clinical expertise and the best available evidence to make a diagnosis and recommend treatment options for you.

Chiropractors use various treatments, depending on their patient’s specific needs and preferences. Common treatments include:
manual therapy, soft tissue therapy, electronic modalities, such as therapeutic ultrasound and cold laser therapy, therapeutic exercise programs, self-management tools and techniques, advice and education.

One of the most frequent treatments a chiropractor uses is manual manipulation of the vertebrae of your spine or other joints, which is called an ‘adjustment.’ To perform an adjustment, a chiropractor will use their hands to apply controlled force to your joint and guide it through a range of motion. This action restores your joint’s natural movement and improves its function.
Rehabilitation and Post-Surgical Care
Depending on your medical history, diagnosis and goals, a chiropractor will create a individual and progressive rehabilitation program to help you get back what you have been missing.
The program may include therapeutic exercises, strengthening exercises, balance exercises, stretching and mobility training.

Rehabilitation can help you get stronger, increase flexibility, increase mobility, reduce pain, stay active and prevent injury.

Rehabilitation is an ideal treatment for low back pain, sports injuries, pre and post-surgery, muscle strains, joint sprains, tendon injuries and shoulder pain.
Additionally, Dr. Ballantyne offers a boot camp rehabilitation program for patients with spinal stenosis to manage symptoms, stay active and improve quality of life.
Medical Acupuncture
Medical acupuncture is a therapeutic method of care where disposable fine needles (acupuncture needles) are inserted into precise anatomical points. Acupuncture stimulates the body to produce its own pain relieving chemicals called endorphins. The improved energy and biomechanical balance produced by acupuncture stimulates the body's natural healing abilities.
Medical acupuncture is used to relieve pain, improve blood flow, reduce inflammation, improve function and mobility of the affected areas of the body.

Medical acupuncture is an effective treatment for a variety of painful conditions including; low back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow), jaw pain, headaches and chronic pain.
